Currently, I am looking at ecological restoration as a land use transition. With this research I am asking:
1) How do ecological restoration practices affect plant community and composition in Andean highlands? 2) What is the economic incentive for doing ecological restoration? 3) What are the social implications of being involved in an ecological restoration project for local people? |

Polylepis forest dynamics
Forest patch formations, normally containing species of the genus Polylepis, occur above the natural treeline in the Andean highlands. My research here involves looking at the factors that affect the growth rate of Polylepis species such as water availability, humidity, temperature, soil characteristics and edge effects.
